My name is Naryan Sawyers I am chiropractor here in NYC. I went to Life Chiropractic College West in the Bay Area of California after spending 5 years in Wilmington North Carolina Playing basketball, studying electrical installation then later Pre-Medical sciences at UNC-W. In Chiropractic there are many different techniques and ways of practicing, I ended up focusing on what I liked receiving personally which is a diversified osseous form of chiropractic. The focus here is on structure and function, if we can regain truer alignment of the vertebral column we can then release tension and stiffness in the structure of the body which can then free up the energy needed for all systems of the body to do their jobs without interference. This means that if your body is not bound up by tension and stress that the body will have more energy to use for growth, healing and overall well-being. I find that most people are under a tremendous amount of stress with our current health model and culture, stress being the primary cause of all sickness and disease has been primarily ignored until the past 20 years, we are still coming around to this fact, it takes a long time to turn that tanker around. We are almost encouraged to ignore any signals our body may tell us on a day to day basis. If the signal sticks around long enough then go to your doctor and they will give you something to make it better, a real slippery slope in the long run when you aren’t dealing with the actual cause. As the physician William Osler so wisely stated “The person who takes medicine must recover twice, once from the dis-ease and once from the medicine.” Those signals, which we call symptoms are there to tell us that something within us is out of balance and needs to be addressed, not just to pop a pill and forget about but actually addressed in a way that makes a positive change. Otherwise we put ourselves on a fast track for more pain and dis-ease later on down the road. Chiropractic care is an actual tool in the tool box of life that can be used to balance the entire system thereby making positive changes in the body that will lead greater awareness and health overall. This is my role as a chiropractor to Help people to keep on keeping on in whatever their role is in this life.
“We live in a stressful world. Our nervous system is constantly striving to find equilibrium amongst this stress. Guarding or what we call survival instinct creates tension and is the body's response to the stress in our daily lives. This tension if not dealt with builds on itself creating a snowball effect that depletes the vital energy of the body resulting in symptoms and dis-ease. Put enough stress on anything in this world and it will eventually breakdown. Finding and removing this tension is a necessity not a luxury and this is the goal of chiropractic care.”
"your body's ability to heal is greater than anyone has permitted you to believe"
